This Moment, This Community
June has been a month of contrasts and deep meaning. Across the country and here at home, people took to the streets, some in protest and others in fear, as communities grapple with uncertainty and rising tensions. At the same time, we have been surrounded by moments of extraordinary pride and hope, reminders that the strength of our community continues to flourish and that resilience lives here.
This month also marks Pride Month, a time when many of our grantees are amplifying voices, holding space for LGBTQ+ youth, adults, and families, and affirming identity through celebration and support. Organizations like Avenidas provide programming for LGBTQ+ older adults, from weekly gatherings and resource navigation to cultural events and community-building activities, helping ensure that everyone can age with dignity, connection, and pride. We’re honored to stand alongside them in recognizing lives lived authentically and boldly. We are celebrating milestones that lift us all. Peninsula Bridge announced that all 48 of its graduating seniors—many of them first-generation college students—have been accepted to four-year universities across the country. And we’re proud to celebrate another joyful milestone: the grand opening of the new Collective Roots Community Garden in East Palo Alto, a living symbol of what’s possible when communities come together.
These triumphs are not accidental. They reflect years of persistence, partnership, and the power of community. They are also exactly the kind of impact PACF is proud to have invested in over the years with the support of our generous donors.
As we approach the close of our fiscal year on June 30, we invite you to be part of this momentum. If you haven’t yet made your annual gift, there’s still time to support the local nonprofits building equity, opportunity, and lasting change across our region.
With appreciation,

Irene Wong
