Grantee Spotlight
Generosity Abounds with the Christmas Bureau
As one of PACF’s valued grantees, the Christmas Bureau of Palo Alto has been a cornerstone of holiday generosity and compassion since 1956. Dedicated to addressing the needs of very low-income families and individuals in Palo Alto and the Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD), the Christmas Bureau provides small monetary gift checks, giving recipients the dignity to meet their unique needs.
Last year, monetary support ranged from $70 for single individuals to $350 for families of eight, ensuring that every recipient could experience some relief during the expensive holiday season. Whether it’s a senior replacing wheelchair tires, a parent buying gifts for their children, or a family securing warm coats, these funds provide critical support at just the right time.
The Christmas Bureau’s extensive partnerships strengthen its impact and exemplify the power of collaboration in our connected community. The Christmas Bureau works with numerous partners that amplify their impact. For example, the Buena Vista Mobile Home Community recently became a partner, extending the Christmas Bureau’s reach to families living in challenging circumstances, including multigenerational households. The Christmas Bureau’s commitment to collaboration doesn’t stop at financial aid—they also work with stakeholders to ensure their programs remain inclusive and effective.
The Christmas Bureau reminds us that generosity and connection can transform lives. PACF is proud to support their mission of creating a community where no one feels left behind during the holiday season.
