Update On MOVE Mountain View
This summer, PACF highlighted its grant to MOVE Mountain View (MOVE MV), an organization providing safe parking sites for the hundreds of individuals and families living in their vehicles. Since then, MOVE MV has been working tirelessly to address the urgent need created by the El Camino Real repaving project, which displaced dozens of RV dwellers. Thanks to these efforts, an expansion of the safe parking site on Geng Road near the Baylands is ready to receive clients, offering essential facilities like a kitchen, laundry, and case management support.
PACF is pleased to join other supporters in this crucial initiative, which demonstrates the incredible impact of community and collective action. The Geng Road site exemplifies how, together, we can support timely and essential projects that meet urgent needs in our community. This effort saw $50,000 raised from the community—including contributions from foundations, churches, and the Rotary Club of Palo Alto—along with additional support from the county and city to sustain ongoing operations. This partnership underscores what’s possible when people come together to uplift their neighbors and address critical challenges.
