PACF Celebrates Palo Alto’s First Pride Event
Earlier this month, PACF was proud to sponsor and participate in Palo Alto's first-ever Pride celebration, joining hundreds of community members for an afternoon centered on belonging, inclusion, and community connection.
Held at King Plaza in front of City Hall, the event brought together residents, nonprofits, businesses, community organizations, volunteers, and civic leaders to celebrate a welcoming and inclusive community. What began as a youth-led vision grew into a vibrant community gathering and a historic milestone for Palo Alto.
Our booth, staffed by PACF board members and staff, became a gathering place for many familiar faces. We were delighted to welcome PACF’s board emeriti, advisory board members, donors, grantees, community partners, and friends of PACF who stopped by to say hello, learn more about our work, and share their enthusiasm for this inaugural community event.
We were especially pleased to be tabling alongside our friends at allcove Palo Alto and the Heard Alliance. Throughout the afternoon, our neighboring booths welcomed community members seeking information and ways to get involved in supporting youth mental health and wellbeing. It was a wonderful reminder of the power of partnership and the many organizations working together to help young people thrive.
One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was the leadership of the young people who helped bring it to life. Their vision created a space where people of all ages could celebrate together. At a time when youth wellbeing remains an important priority for our community, it was especially meaningful to see young people helping lead the way.
PACF extends its gratitude to the City of Palo Alto, Youth Community Service, the youth organizers, volunteers, sponsors, community organizations, and the many residents whose collective efforts made this inaugural event possible. The strong turnout and enthusiastic community participation demonstrated just how much this celebration was needed.
As a community fund, PACF believes thriving communities are built when people feel a strong sense of belonging in their community. We were honored to support this first Pride celebration and look forward to seeing it continue to grow as a cherished community tradition in the years ahead.
