Meet PACF’s New Board President

PACF recently began a new fiscal year, and with it, welcomed a new Board President. We’re thrilled to introduce you to Becky Beacom, who has served on the PACF Board for the past four years and now steps into leadership with vision, warmth, and a deep personal connection to the communities we serve.

Becky is not only a passionate community advocate, she also embodies a deep, generational commitment to the PACF communities: five generations of her family have lived in the same Palo Alto home. Over the years, Becky has lived in the interconnected neighborhoods of Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and Menlo Park, attended Ravenswood schools, and devoted her career to advancing the health and well-being of families across the region. Inspired by her childhood pediatrician, Esther B. Clark, Becky spent four decades working primarily at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and also contributed to the work of the Children’s Health Council—two pioneering institutions Dr. Clark helped to co-found.

As Board President, Becky is eager to help PACF deepen its engagement with nonprofits, donors, and the community at large, especially at a time when local nonprofits are facing greater uncertainty.

What gives Becky hope?

When asked what gives her hope, she pointed to the strength and connection within our local communities, especially among the nonprofits that serve them. She is continually inspired by their dedication and the deep resilience they demonstrate. Becky sees PACF’s growing focus on trust-based philanthropy and expanded community engagement as powerful sources of hope, bringing organizations together to learn from one another, collaborate across sectors, and build toward lasting, community-led change.

Becky believes that the more we connect with local organizations, the more we uncover the dedication, strength, and resilience that define our communities. Her hope for PACF is to keep fostering these connections, because that’s how lasting, community-led change takes root.

Please join us in welcoming Becky Beacom as PACF’s new Board President, and in celebrating a new year of connection, learning, and local impact.
