Neighbors Strengthening Neighbors
Community Foundation Week, recognized nationally from November 12–18, honors the vital role that local philanthropy plays in strengthening communities and addressing pressing challenges close to home. This year, the recognition resonated deeply across our region.
PACF was proud to join fellow community foundations, including Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation, Morgan Hill Community Foundation, Belle Haven Community Development Fund, Mavericks Community Foundation, San Carlos Community Foundation, San Bruno Community Foundation, Saratoga-Monte Sereno Community Foundation, Woodside Community Foundation, and the Community Foundation for San Benito County in honoring the work and impact of place-based philanthropy. Together, these organizations form a network grounded in the belief that when neighbors come together to support one another, communities grow stronger.
As a foundation serving communities in both Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, PACF was honored to be recognized by both counties with official proclamations declaring Community Foundation Week and acknowledging the importance of local philanthropy in responding to community needs.
We were also especially proud to receive a proclamation from the City of Palo Alto, our home and birthplace nearly 50 years ago. Being acknowledged by the city where PACF was founded added special meaning.
We extend our appreciation to Santa Clara County Supervisor Margaret Abe-Koga, San Mateo County Supervisor Ray Mueller, and the City of Palo Alto, Mayor Ed Lauing, for championing this recognition and helping elevate the critical role of community foundations in advancing shared goals of strengthening local communities.
